The behaviour:

There’s little societal awareness of Elder Abuse being a form of family violence that’s being experienced by 14% of older people.

Elder abuse is a form of family violence that is unacceptable but has very low awareness. It is a phenomenon that is notoriously under-reported with many barriers to disclosing elder abuse. Sufferers feel a sense of shame, concerned that speaking up will cement their status as ‘vulnerable’ or by raising, it will jeopardise the relationship they have with their ‘carer’.

The change:

We helped raise awareness of what it looks like and inspired people to call it out.
